Northwestern looks like it has no offense at all with Cam Porter out.
And the Cubs were eliminated today. :sigh:

Not only did we miss our most productive rusher, but our new OC has contributed very little to this year’s team. In four games, the only one that we showed any offensive production in was the second half of Eastern Illinois. Tonight’s two goal line series were embarrassing to watch. The play calling has been equally poor in numerous situations.
The next eight games will be quite a bit tougher than our first four, and we should hope that our offense improves measurably over that span.
Those two goal line sequences were terrible play calling … shotgun every time and no creativity … not Big Ten football. Absolute disgrace.
On the plus side, Washington is truly a stunning setting and a beautiful campus … but that’s about the only good thing to come out of today’s game. Our offense was just abysmal. The defense and special teams were OK, but the offense has a lot of work to do, especially in the run game.
GO CATS!!!

Do QBs even learn how to go under center any more??
They do to run certain old Wing-T and QB Sneak plays, but today’s multi blitz defenses makes running out of the shotgun, or pistol a little safer for passing (but you guys all know that…)
I just don’t understand how we couldn’t get a QB sneak into the endzone TWICE!

But at least Xander Mueller caught Bill Connelly’s eye:
What do you suppose the Cats will do during their bye week to try to fix the problems that were so apparent in the first 4 games of the season?
