Bipartisan bill on NIL introduced in Senate

Senators Tuberville and Manchin have introduced the first bill to regulate NIL, though others are still in the drafting stage. NCAA President calls it a ‘major step’.

It sounds like the bill has some pretty wide ranging clauses, including limiting the ability for athletes to transfer without sitting out a year.

I imagine if a bill was passed that negated some deals already in place that in order to continue playing under the NCAA umbrella , they would need to be cancelled ( or re -worked to comply). The bill might also have some sort of grandfather clause as well

Here’s what Manchin’s website has to say about the PASS bill:

Among the exceptions to the transfer limitations is that players still get an opportunity to transfer if their coach leaves or is fired.
