Cats beat #19 Illinois at home

70-66 in OT, a nice win at home.

If the first two conference games are any indicator, this is likely to be a very interesting basketball season. The Cats are experienced fighters. Yeah, they came up a free-throw or so short in Iowa, but they made enough of them last night to get to OT and Martinelli had a good 2nd half and OT, with Nicholson making what was probably the game-winning block.

They were a little slow coming out of the gate both at Iowa and against Illinois, that concerns me.

Kind of interesting to read what the Illinois writers were saying about the game, too.

The loss will probably cost the Il-Whine-I a spot or two on the rankings, but I personally think (without actual knowledge) that this team is not as bad as some of the people on FB claim it is, and probably not as good as the die hard fans of the Wildcats think it is so far.

But a loss n the road, and a win at home means they are Protecting Their House, and that usually leads to a good season.
