Cats beat Indiana at home 79-70

The Cats were just below the bubble in the latest Lunardi projections for the NCAA Tournament, this might put them above it. The Cats hit more 3s in the 2nd half than I think I’ve seen in any game so far this season.

Nebraska, which was just barely above the bubble, lost at home to USC, their 5th straight loss and 2nd at home, so they probably dropped below the bubble.

Watching the late 2nd half they were hitting every 3. It was amazing.

Some sloppy play at the end made it closer than it should’ve been and that faceplant on the dunk was UGLY and probably involved a broken nose.

We are good at home(except for the MSU game we attended), but just can’t do anything worthwhile on the road.

Barnheiser’s status for the next game (@Illinois) is unclear, but if he is playing he may have a nose guard. Haven’t seen an official report yet but it sure looked like a broken nose to me.

Speaking of Barnhizer, does anyone know if he has another year of eligibility? Ostensibly, he could have a “covid year” coming, right?

If he comes back next year, the team could be very good. The incoming class is excellent and the current freshmen are getting some good experience. Plus we’ll still have Hunger + some of the subs.

I don’t think Barnheiser has another season of eligibility, but you have to be a lawyer to figure out all the clauses in the rules.
