Cats, Iowa win in Indy

Northwestern beat Minnesota 72-64, with Martinelli scoring 28. They’ll play Wisconsin tomorrow at around 1:30 PM. The Peacock crew working the tournament called Northwestern the team nobody wants to face in Indy and said the NU-WI game could be one of the best game of the tournament.

Iowa just beat Ohio State 77-70, so the lower seeded team (#13 and #15) won both games so far. Iowa will play Illinois tomorrow. OSU might have fallen below the bubble with this loss.

Watching the game on Peacock the 'Cats were in total control and if they had hit their free throws it would’ve been a total cakewalk. Hopefully tomorrow vs. the Badgers we are better from the charity stripe.

Would’ve been a phenomenal season if we managed to avoid the 2 big injuries even with the strong B1G. Lots of top 25 teams even if no top 5-10 teams.

I think we could’ve gotten the 7 spot in the NCAA which would’ve allowed us the potential to make it into the second weekend.

Minnesota fired it’s men’s BB coach today in the aftermath of yesterday’s loss to NU.

It feels like more coaches than average get fired after losing to Northwestern regardless the sport.
I’m sure there are stats to prove it just like our road homecoming record in football has to be among the best in the nation.

While the injuries spoiled a potentially great season, there are a lot of younger players who got some serious playing time this season, that should benefit us next year. Replacing Nicholson will be a challenge.

Ohio State’s loss to Iowa dropped them into Lunardi’s first 4 out group today.
