Illinois wins 20-13. Cats turned the ball over 4 times and couldn’t score in the red zone.
Not a game you could easily sleep through, but Illinois keep the hat another year.
Only one of his picks wasn’t deflected. The fumble at the goal line hurt, but our inside-the-10 offense has been miserable for at least a decade even under Fitz. The lack of Komo/Beast hurt us in critical situations all game even though Preckel ran well.
We had so many “close” games that we couldn’t finish, but overall my expectations for the season were low and we hit the high end of my expectations. A bowl game is an accomplishment.
