ESPN's grouping of 'like' teams

ESPN did this last year, and they’ve done it again.

I forgot this was a ‘subscriber only’ link.

Northwestern is in group 11B: Where’s the Offense, along with Illinois, Minnesota, Pittsburgh and South Carolina.

Chronically offense-poor Iowa made Tier 8: In need of a vibe shift.

As someone who has historically been well connected to the program through booster, season ticket holder, and other connections I never have a feel on how bad(or good) we are.

Anybody who can predict our performance on down(and up) years is a genius, but in reality is a complete liar.

Neither B1G west title performance was predictable, neither was 2000, and definitely not 1995 even if you knew in advance about Lundy’s throwing the games in 1994.

Given the roster rotation in college accurate predictions are impossible.

So excited to see the new stadium next Saturday.

Go Cats! and here is an article about our opponent https://www.theblaze.com/fearless/alabama-miami-ohio-kicker-recruitment complainng about loosing a kicker to Alabama, which is something based on our kicking that we don’t have to worry about.

The 2023 team had an ‘us vs the world’ mentality, much of which came from the last-minute firing of Fitz.

I don’t know what there is for this year’s team to coalesce around, so David Braun needs to prove he can unite players that may not have all that much to be united over. If he can do it, he’s a heckuva coach.

I’m probably not going to make a definitive guess on the season, because I’m always totally wrong anyway, but I could see the 2024 team being anywhere from 3-4 wins to 7-8 wins.

The season starts out with Nebraska and Northwestern playing at the same time, my least favorite scheduling. One of the disadvantages with having cut the cable is that switching from one game to another is no longer a single-button click. I could watch one game on the 58" TV and the other on my laptop (and have done that in the past) but I’d really like a better option.

You could add your big TV as a second monitor from your laptop and just change inputs?

Yeah, but I still want to watch both games at the same time.

We have Roku streaming boxes on all the TVs, and they will work with an HDMI monitor as well, just no sound. The current plan is to put a 24" or so monitor on a shelf beside the 58" TV and connect it to one of the Roku boxes, tuned to the other game to watch. No sound, but I’ll be able to watch both games.

I’m also looking at an HDMI matrix splitter which has two inputs and two outputs so it can route either HDMI input to either HDMI device.
