Harbaugh get a 'bad dog!' from the NCAA

Jim Harbaugh has been given a one-year suspension and a four-year show cause order for his role (though he denied both having any knowledge of it and being uncooperative with NCAA investigators) of the recruiting and scouting violations at Michigan. (I suspect he didn’t see much, because schools make sure their head coaches don’t see stuff they’re not supposed to know about.)

Since he’s off to the NFL with an $80 million paycheck, this is no skin off his nose.

I’m sure Harbaugh is giving the NCAA one big middle finger

I saw some statement comparing this to a kid enrolled in college getting a note from his high school complaining that he didn’t sign his yearbook.

Michigan has named Harbaugh as the honorary captain for their season opener against Fresno State.

:raspberry:

Getting close. They already have an established gameday plan for the lakefill.

There is no comeuppance. If you get the glory and later it was revealed as a big cheat/lie there is no way to undo the plaudits you received.

That being said what Michigan did wasn’t the worst. I think grayshirting, producing illiterate football athletes, kicking injured players off the team without medical care, etc. is worse

If you think grayshirting was bad, watch to see how schools try to get around the new roster limits, it’ll make grayshirting look like kindergarten.

A major reason that Harbaugh conducts himself the way he does is that Michigan tolerates his behavior and often rewards him for it.
