Michigan cheating by stealing signs?

Michigan is being accused of cheating by stealing signs using scouts at games of future opponents, prohibited by NCAA rules.

Reminds me of when Gary B. banned the internet media from practices… because we were reporting on what players were doing, particularly skill players and what kind of drills they were doing.

I know I used to report impressions of a practice and how well certain players were performing, but I worked during the Randy Walker era, and Randy loved to talk to the assembled media after spring drills because he’d also do one on one interviews with the Trib, and the Evanston paper and answer the tougher questions.

Personally, I preferred talking with the Senior players - they’d give you a pretty good indication of how well (or not well) things were going - (loved to talk with Zach Streif after a practice.)

But its so easy to stream stuff from a practice now, I’m surprised they even let people bring phones of any type on the field, or even areas surrounding the practice fields now.

Attention focused on a staffer:

Harbaugh denies knowledge, but under NCAA rules that might not matter as far as sanctions are concerned.

Sounds like some guy who had been involved in INTEL.

Gotta watch us “spooks”

If he got caught, he apparently wasn’t very good at keeping intel operations secret.

The have certainly relaxed the standards…

unless you are a certain president who shall remain nameless.

I’m just started reading “Cheated”by Andy Martino which chronicles the Houston Astro sign stealing scandal. Im guessing I will read about Kellogg grad and former GM Jeff Luhnow

Harry

Sign stealing is rampant–ESPN.

Well, the Houston Trashcans were eliminated last night. Karma.

There’s a reason why the coaches hold the card in front of their face when they are talking.

As Joseph Heller said:
“Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t after you.”
