NCAA loses in court again

The NCAA’s losing streak in court continues, as a judge in Texas has granted Brendan Sorsby an injunction allowing him to practice and play in 2026 despite his gambling on college sports, including Indiana football games when he was on the Indiana roster. He will be suspended from playing in the first two games, though.

Could be his last opportunity to earn some money due to his football talents?. Will he be banned from the NFL or possibly go undrafted after this season ? (Everyone was waiting for the ruling prior to the NFL supplemtal draft which is being held soon)

You don’t think he’ll wind up as a spokesman for DraftKings? /s

Nebraska’s AD has instructed coaches not to schedule any athletic contests against Texas Tech and the Big Ten is considering making this a conference-wide policy.

Also saw a piece suggesting CFP should ban TT if he plays 1 down

I agree with Finebaum which is rare.

Sorby has been told by the NFL that they will not hold a supplemental draft in 2026. Maybe he’ll sue them.

Has the NCAA won a lawsuit recently? If they didn’t have control of March Madness they would have no revenue to pay for all the lawyers.
Right now it has no usefulness other than the basketball tournament. Football is being held together by mutually assured destruction between the conferences. The B1G or the SEC would go nuclear if they didn’t think the other would return fire.

If either conference can get Notre Dame, that’ll end the armistice, though they’re aren’t that many other teams worth having.

Not sure the NCAA will win this one, either, and I can’t imagine the service academies and Mormon schools are happy, either.

The CFL has told teams that they may not sign Brendan Sorsby for the upcoming CFL season.
