Here’s an interesting way to raise funds for a school’s NIL cooperative, Nebraska is holding an open practice on Saturday, August 3rd, at 6:30 PM, with a $25 admission fee that apparently goes to 1890 Nebraska, the UNL NIL cooperative.
That’s only 3 days after fall practices start, so it’s not like they’re going to be doing a scrimmage or possibly not even any contact drills.
They drew 60K to the spring game (and 93K to the volleyball match in Memorial Stadium a year ago), I wonder how many will show up for this? I expect to see more fundraiser activities like this in the future as if the athletes are going to be getting a big slice of the revenue pie, that money has to come from somewhere.
