The NCAA has voted to change the targeting penalties in a one-year trial. Players who receive a targeting penalty that is upheld on review will no longer need to sit out the next game if the penalty occurs in the 2nd half.
Yeah, it’ll be interesting to see the effect. Seems inconsistent with the NCAA’s recent press release praising how targeting penalties have been trending down. I’m guessing this could impact that trend, especially in the 2nd half.
