Recruiting

A Lincoln Journal-Star report on recruiting in the Big Ten said that Northwestern has 12 committed recruits, ranking them 17th in the conference (including the 4 teams joining in July.)

Only MSU, with 7 commits, was worse.

The Cats probably won’t be heavy users of the transfer portal, either.

I’d bet they would be looking for a short term answer at QB, and maybe some linemen, but maybe Braun will go find himself a DC, and then lay it all on the various assistants to raise up the present players, especially if several with eligibility left decide to stick it out.

It worked for Harbaugh last year with a couple of his “stars,” didn’t it?

There are a number of QBs in the transfer portal who will be grad transfers, and Northwestern seems to be better at getting those types of transfers into the program.

I usually means they’ve only got a season or at best two seasons of eligibility left.

I guess with our many Graduate programs, we have some pretty good things to offer a potential grad student who doesn’t expect to be drafted by the NFL out of his present 4 year college. An NU Masters is still worth a few bucks if you don’t make it to the NFL, right?
